Visa Delay

There are 2 orphanages with kids coming to America through our hosting organization, Living Hope Adoption. One group of kids were granted visas and are coming this Friday.  Jude's group was supposed to come this Friday, but unfortunately, even with the tireless work of the coordinator, there is a delay in the visa appointment and the earliest it looks like they will be able to come is July 9th.
My friend Tracy is hosting Ricky from Jude's orphanage as well. Here is a picture of Ricky and her blog if you want to follow her story.

You may have read on my FB post that a sweet girl, Alexis' host family had to back out at the last minute.  Rumor has it that they were in the process of adopting internationally and got word that they would be traveling during that time. One of my best friends, who has walked alongside many of us at church through hosting/adopting decided to host Alexis! Read her story here.

Ann's blog

Ironically Tracy and I have been planning for months for our host kids to arrive and they now will be delayed until July. Ann and her husband decided to host last week, and Alexis is coming Friday!

Please continue to pray for all of these kids (and us). We are really hoping we can advocate for them and that they will find a forever family.

As far as my reaction to Jude's delayed arrival, I know God's timing is perfect! As I am frantically decorating for VBS at our church, I am thankful to have some extra time and brain space to plan his arrival. Also, he won't be overwhelmed by the craziness we call VBS. Furthermore, he will miss one lake vacation with us which in the long run may be better for him too. Not even sure he can swim much less tube, ride in a boat or watch fireworks. I am thinking those things may have even scared him. I am resting in God's plan and timing, and am excited I can walk along side Ann for 2 weeks before he comes.

May was super busy

May was slammed with the close of my school year, my 40th birthday music video (here is the link to copy and paste in your browser if interested   https://vimeo.com/168672136  ) Illinois family visit, and kids' activities.

Although there is a lot going on in our lives, I am reserving this blog for our orphan adventures (and because I am too busy living life to blog about it).

Praising God for the 6 friends from Pennsylvania to Florida who helped us pay our hosting fees!

We haven't received the exact itinerary because they are still some details to work out with caregivers and government. So please pray that the Lord will work all of that in His way and timing. I'm actually pretty relaxed, trusting Him to guide us every step.

All of our paperwork is turned in and fees paid. Just need to get his bed set up.

In a miraculous turn of events, several kids' families have fallen through and each time a new family has stepped up almost immediately.

So excited to see how this all plays out.
